You know that feeling when you are kind of sad and you are hanging out with your beautiful friend and she’s making you laugh but she’s also kind of going through it? Dream-pop project Yawn creates a gorgeously intimate space with their lush layering and warm, solid vocals. The package is lovingly woven together by the complex and joyously self-deprecating Julia McDougall. It is at the same time a captivating one-woman show, cathartic peek into someone else’s tear-stained diary and wistfully swaying on the dance floor with your best friend.  Yawn plans to release her debut album in the summer of 2025.
